Virtual reality experience, directed by Nathan Otaño and David Calvet, co-produced with Fig55 (CA)
In addition to the animated feature Blue Figures, the VR experience immerses us as customers in the Blue Figures jazz vinyl record store, taking part in the challenges of surviving in today's Paris.
In a jazz vinyl store in Paris's Bastille district, Eliott, an elderly African-American ex-trumpet player who owns the store, is fighting to save this place of jazz history and exchange. Inès, a rebellious young teenager, befriends Eliott and tries to help him save his store, bringing in new clientele and involving local shopkeepers.
As the story unfolds, Eliott and Inès share their challenges and weaknesses. In each episode, Eliott invites us to meet a great jazz icon who echoes their questions. Through the vinyl, we cross eras to experience short biopics in which Charlie Mingus, Fats Waller and Sun Ra bring new light to the concerns of our contemporaries.
The store comes alive with each new episode, but also thanks to interactive quests to be carried out by the player (searching for vinyls, manipulating objects, discovering new bins...).
