In development short film, romantic/slice of life for teen/adults, written and directed by Alexandre Edeline
After their breakup, Jimmy sends vocals to himself to avoid sending them to Emy. In this abandoned apartment, every object she left brings back memories ; from her pack of light cigarettes to her dolphin trinkets and the cathedral of Amiens under construction. He tries introspection, resigned, vegetative, alcoholic. He honors every bit of the past and makes a dialogue about his desire to turn the page with his last regrets.
What does it mean to move on ? Accept not being quite happy, not quite rebuilt. Accept being alone and be ok with it.
Last Message is about the end of romance between two young people from peripheral France, far from the usual romantic representations. It talks about the grief that one experiences during a break-up and expresses the fact that one can, often has to, come to terms with it alone. He is treated like a “ghost movie”: Emy is alive but he knows he can’t get her back.
He will attempt a technique of introspection cruelly rooted in our digital era, to heal himself.
